RCS end-to-end encryption testingWith iOS 26.5, Apple is back to testing end-to-end encryption for RCS support—one of the last big limitations the protocol has on iOS. The company started to test encryption support with iOS 26.4, but said it wouldn't roll out with that release. If it does indeed ship with the final build of iOS 26.5, iPhone users should be able to text their Android friends directly without leaving their messages out in the open in plain text.
